Apogenix´ main investor is the Dietmar Hopp family. Dietmar Hopp, one of the co-founders of the renowned software firm SAP, supports biotech companies as a strategic investor. His family´s biotechnology funds are managed by Dievini GmbH & Co. KG – Advisors in Health Sciences.
Further shareholders of Apogenix GmbH are the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), Heidelberg, as well as its scientific founders Peter Krammer and Henning Walczak, and its executive management.
In late 2005, the Hopp family's investment of EUR 15m enabled today’s management team to restart Apogenix GmbH almost from the scratch, mainly based on the know-how gathered from Apogenix Biotechnology AG around the most advanced product candidate APG101. Earlier in 2004, its predecessor corporation Apogenix Biotechnology AG had filed for insolvency and undergone comprehensive organizational restructuring.
